Dr. Michael Sweeney, DPM
Dr. Michael Sweeney joined Upstate Podiatry Group in September of 2025. He is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvia. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
Dr, Sweeney completed his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine where he served as Class President. He is also a recipient of the KSUCPM Student of the Year Award. He then completed an intensive 3 year surgical residency training at a Level 1 Trauma Center at the University of Louisville where he served as chief resident. Wanting to gain more knowledge for his patients he then went on to complete a fellowship in Waycross, Georgia with a focus on Limb Deformity Correction and Reconstruction. Dr. Sweeney is a board qualified foot and ankle surgeon with ABFAS and board certified with ABPM.
He is absolutely thrilled to be serving the surrounding upstate community. When not working, Dr. Sweeney enjoys spending time with his wife and their miniature schnauzer. He also enjoys cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers every Sunday.
